Matt or Gloss?
Bona Polish Matt is the best choice where an understated appearance is preferred. It refreshes the surface while maintaining an even matt look.
Bona Polish Gloss is designed for floors where additional lustre is desired. It refreshes dull surfaces while creating a more reflective appearance. The Gloss version also meets the applicable Bona-listed slip-resistance requirement.
Surface Preparation
The floor must be completely clean and dry before application. Remove loose dirt, dust and grit, then clean the surface thoroughly to ensure that contamination is not trapped beneath the new maintenance coating.
If the floor already has a significant build-up of polish or an incompatible maintenance treatment, the existing layer may need to be removed with a suitable Bona polish remover before applying a fresh coat.
Application Guidance
Shake the container thoroughly before use. Apply a thin, consistent layer using a Bona Applicator Pad, working in the direction of the wood grain where possible.
Avoid repeatedly working back into areas that have already started to dry, as this may create visible application marks or differences in sheen.
Allow approximately 1 hour before light foot traffic under normal drying conditions. Where a second coat is required, follow Bona’s current instructions regarding the minimum recoating time.
Important Note
Polish and refresher treatments can alter both the sheen level and slip resistance of the existing floor surface. Bona specifically advises against applying polish or refreshers over surfaces such as Bona Traffic HD Anti Slip or Bona Traffic HD Raw where their original surface characteristics need to be maintained.
Always test the product on a small inconspicuous area when the existing floor finish or previous maintenance treatment is unknown.
